A sixteen year old schoolgirl died in her sleep after drinking a cider dubbed ‘the cheapest booze on sale in the UK’.
Megan Craig Wilkinson was attending a New Year get together, her first big party with friends, where she tried 7.5 per alcohol ‘Frosty Jack’s’ cider and died within hours.
Campaigners today warned a three litre bottle of Frosty Jack’s contains the equivalent of 22 SHOTS of vodka. yet costs just 16p per unit of alcohol.
Grieving mum Joanne Good, 38, found Megan a talented GCSE student who dreamed of being a teacher dead in bed the morning after drinking it.
She was a victim of pulmonary aspiration effectively ‘dry drowning’ as her stomach emptied its contents into her lungs.
Joanne had stayed with her daughter as she fell asleep, and put her in the recovery position as she lay in bed. But she was unaware that she had been drinking such a high level of alcohol. And she has warned other parents to be aware of the dangers.

Brave Joanne, full time mum to Aidan, 16, Amelia, 10, and eight year old Hannah, will tomorrow lobby MPs to take action on ‘pocket money’ booze prices.
“I never knew that level of alcohol per volume was available,” said Joanne, of Dudley, North Tyneside. “I knew that Megan was at her http://www.cheapjerseys11.com/ friend’s house for the party she had been there before, so I knew she was in a safe environment.
“At the party there was a three litre bottle of Frosty Jack’s. Megan had around half of it over a period of four or five hours.
“She was due to stay out overnight but came back home cheap jerseys just before midnight because she was feeling sick.
“She was still texting her friends Happy New Year, and I went up to bed with her to make sure she was settled. I stayed with her and I did notice she was trying to lie on her back when she was half asleep so I put her in the recovery position.
“When she settled down, I went downstairs.”

The party with around 15 of Megan’s schoolfriends was on New Year’s Eve 2013. Next morning, on Jan 1, 2014, her mother made the horrific discovery she had died in her sleep.
Stepdad Michael, 32, realised she was dead, even as Joanne made frantic attempts to save her and called emergency services.
It has taken three years of the most profound grief and depths of despair to summon up the courage to talk about the tragedy.
Determined Joanne now hopes to take her message into schools to warn teenagers about drinks like Frosty Jack’s, which are targeted at a young audience and often drank by under 18’s. “I want to make them aware because these drinks are clearly something kids get access to,” she explained.
“Teenagers and young adults need to know how dangerous it can be. You see them buying it or looking for it in corner shops. It has been going on for generations. Under 18s are not supposed to buy it, but they do get their hands on it and it is so dangerous.”.
